Christmas Concert

'What an unforgettable evening we had on Wednesday! The Dane Court community gathered for a sold-out festive spectacular: 'Dane Court at the Movies; a Christmas Extravaganza.'
The first half transported us into a world of cinematic elegance with a more classical focus. From the soaring melodies of the Orchestra and Wind Band to the rambunctious harmonies of the Brass groups and delicate balance of the Junior strings, the standard was truly professional. Our Junior, Senior, and Adult choirs filled the hall with warmth, while the Bucket Drumming group brought a rhythmic energy that had everyone tapping along. A special shout-out to Suzie, who successfully completed her CMM for IB Music by composing for and leading the drummers—an incredible achievement!
After an interval filled with delicious treats baked by our talented Adult Choir, the energy shifted gears. Rupert’s 'supergroup' kicked off the second half with a raucous, show-stopping rendition of Raye’s 'Where is my Husband'. Rupert deserves immense credit for his exceptional engineering and leadership in organising such a complex performance.
The momentum continued with high-octane sets from three Year 10 bands, three Scholars and Apprentices bands, the Year 13 group Down Boots, and our Junior enrichment band, All 1 Way. We must also highlight Dot and Darcy for their brave and beautiful solo performances; their poise under pressure was inspiring.
The night concluded with a joyous, roof-raising finale of Wizzard’s 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day'. The feedback has been glowing, and the talent on display was a testament to our students' hard work.
Merry Christmas to everyone in the Dane Court family!!
