  • Photography competition for schools and about Bird Wise East Kent

    Published 27/01/26, by Laura Trinkwon

Bird Wise East Kent and Thanet Coast Project are looking for budding young photographers to enter their free photography competition!
The East Kent Coast Photography Awards are held every year, and are a celebration of all the wonderful wildlife we have here on the East Kent Coast. There are lots of different categories, but our dedicated Under 18s category is open to a wide range of coastal subjects. It doesn’t matter if it flies, swims, walks, or none of the above: if it can be found on our shores, we want to see it!
So if your students have some brilliant coastal pictures, please do encourage them to enter. Spending a morning or afternoon trying to capture some coastal scenes could also be a great activity! It doesn't matter if they were taken on a smartphone or a camera, it's all about capturing the essence of the East Kent
    Coast.

  • Christmas Concert

    Published 19/12/25, by Laura Trinkwon

'What an unforgettable evening we had on Wednesday! The Dane Court community gathered for a sold-out festive spectacular: 'Dane Court at the Movies; a Christmas Extravaganza.'

The first half transported us into a world of cinematic elegance with a more classical focus. From the soaring melodies of the Orchestra and Wind Band to the rambunctious harmonies of the Brass groups and delicate balance of the Junior strings, the standard was truly professional. Our Junior, Senior, and Adult choirs filled the hall with warmth, while the Bucket Drumming group brought a rhythmic energy that had everyone tapping along. A special shout-out to Suzie, who successfully completed her CMM for IB Music by composing for and leading the drummers—an incredible achievement!
