About the Library

The Austin Library is at the heart of Dane Court – literally. On the first floor, we are in a uniquely shaped, natural light-filled room that overlooks the front entrance and the heart area. We have walls filled with books that span from historical fiction to romance to textbooks on physical exercise, and a community of brilliant students that turn our book house into a library. 

While reading is our heart, our community is our life. Everything that is within the realm of impossibility will always be weighed with a touch of possibility, to see if it’s something we can bring to our students. It’s why we’re so keen on creating engaging themes, turning our space into Hogwarts for the term, or bringing new skills by hosting workshops.

We have a fantastic board game collection, a range of clubs that suit our antisocial social students, and events throughout the year that blend our pop-culture love with our fierce competitiveness, and love of reading. We work closely with our students to ensure our books are relatable, engaging, and up-to-date.

Opening Hours

Monday – Friday
8.00-3.20pm 

Some after-school clubs are hosted in the Library, so we are open later on some days.
 

Facilities 

There are 3 chromebooks available in the Library for students to use. We also have a Stationery Shop available for students to purchase stock at wholesale value. 

Lending Agreement

Students are welcome to take out a maximum of 5 books over a 2-week period, and are welcome to extend their loan time by an additional 2 weeks. We do not charge our students an overdue fee, but we do ask them to replace a lost or damaged book.
