Huge congratulations to Yr 10, who have been working incredibly hard over the last 10 weeks (either side of the Easter break) on Mr. Craig's "EGG-stravaganza"!

Year 10 students have been hard at work both in and out of lessons over the last two terms gaining "Egg-stravaganza" points. Points were awarded for getting merits, maintaining excellent attendance and punctuality, taking part in extracurricular activities, and demonstrating the consistent hard work we so often see from our "silent achievers"— plus any other reasons teachers felt were worthy of a point or two!
-
A special mention goes to Zalan, who topped the leaderboard with an amazing 143 points!
-
Congratulations to runners up: Christopher, Winter, Evie, Toby, and Annabelle, who all took home an egg-related prize too.
All other participants were entered into a high-stakes prize draw for a massive pile of chocolate. While so many deserved to win, there was only one spin of the prize wheel and the winner was - Ali. We certainly hope he decided to share some of his winnings in the end!
Next term sees Year 10 stepping up a gear or two. Our first week back is packed with activities, including:
-
Science Department Forensics Days (in school) on Monday and Tuesday
-
The Employability Day trip and the Spanish Language trip later in the week
Soon after, Year 10 will commence their PPE's (Pre-Public Exams) from the 18th to the 25th (a more exact timetable will follow shortly). This exam period will coincide with a move to the N Plaza for mentoring, which helps signify their transition into the final year of their Key Stage 4 journey.
I am acutely aware that this step up can increase pressure for students both at school and at home. We have been, and will continue to be, working on robust revision and wellbeing strategies during mentoring sessions. Please ensure you reach out to the Year 10 team if you or your child need any extra support during this important transition.
On this last note, after running without a deputy since January, I have recently been privileged to gain two Deputy Year Leads: Miss Salerno and Ms Edwards. They have already been hard at work supporting our students, and I am sure you will all join me in welcoming them to the team!
Have a great half term
Mr Craig
