Tea and Topic sessions 2024
Here's a summary of our very successful Tea and Topic sessions for parents during January 2024.
We are delighted to report that the first Tea and Topic session - where parents were invited to a session in a small group to ask any questions they particularly had about how to support their child to academic success in Science - was well received and helpful. Parents had the chance to hear from Mrs Channing about general, practical ways to help their young people, Dr Green, who addressed the specifics of success in Science GCSEs and a number of our Sixth form team, who were able to provide a student-centric insight into revision and preparation. We thank all parents who gave up their time to attend - for those that could not, below you'll find a recording of the event to catch up at a time convenient to you.
Please find below the audio file for the English Tea and Topic session - which happened last Thursday 18 January. Parents had the opportunity to listen to specific revision insight from Ms Underwood - our Head of English - and to ask any individual questions that they felt would be useful to support their students across both Language and Literature examinations. As with the prior Science session, we wanted to thank all the parents who gave up their time and invite you to listen and catch up on what was discussed if you weren't able to make it.
Please find below the link to listen to the recording of our third and final Tea and Topic session for this year - where parents met with Ms Brissenden (Head of Key Stage 4 Maths) and some Year 12 students to discuss practical strategies to support their children. Please do catch up if this is of interest to you, and if you would like further support, please consider attending the Year 11 Information Evening on the 22 February 2024 or emailing the Head of Achievement - Mrs Channing - echanning@danecourt.kent.sch.uk
