Farewell to our international students

International studentsOn the 14 June we had the sad task to say goodbye to our international students in Year 12. Joakim Fremstad, Cecile Sorensen and Leila Botansen have been with us since September and have been fantastic additions to Delphi House.  They have coped with the demands of studying the IB in a foreign language very well and have been excellent role models for everyone here.

Delphi House Song

house themeIt is that time of year where we need to think about our house anthem for sports day.  Our house captains have put together a shortlist of songs for you to select from and the choices are;

Bad by Michael Jackson

Don't Stop me Now by Queen

Won't Go Quietly by Example

Antidote by Swedish House Mafia

You will get a chance to vote in forms during the next couple of weeks.

Year 13 leavers 2013

6th form leavers 2013 resizedOnce again we had to say goodbye to our Year 13 Delphi students at the end of the last term.  It was an excellent opportunity for us to recognise all of their hard work over the last seven years and to wish them well in the future.  They have got their A-level exams coming up in the next few weeks and we wish them the best of luck.

Delphi FIFA competition

FIFA 13The first ever Delphi FIFA competition will begin on the 14th January.  The tournament bracket is displayed on the Delphi House board along with rules and regulations of the competition.  You can also view an online version of the bracket on the following website;

Mr White and Mr Wallace are entering the competition and are bigging up their chances.  Mr White has been overheard saying that the Delphi students are rubbish at FIFA and stand no chance agains the might of the Dane Court PE department.  I think that this is our chance to prove him wrong and Evan Williams will get his opportunity in the first round.

All entrants will be paying £1 which is being donated to Delphi's house charity, the Teenage Cancer Trust.

UPDATE:  The winner of the tournament was Bryn Llewellyn.  Congratulations!!

Delphi dress code for Children in Need 2012

Children in need 2012Friday 16 November was the date for this year's Children in Need and to celebrate (and raise some money) Delphi staff and sixth formers dressed up in "black tie" for the day.  This gave all of us the opportunity to dust of the tux and show off the sparkly shoes all for a good cause.

As you can see if there was a "Best Dressed House" competition Delphi would win it hands down!

Mr Wood's Movember Mission!

movember2Mr Wood is embarking on the "month of the moustache" along with a number of other members of staff.  Movember is a yearly event in November where men grow moustaches to raise awareness of mens' health issues such as testicular cancer.

The aim for Mr Wood is to raise at least £50 which will be donated to Delphi's House charity which is the Teenage Cancer Trust.  Please support him in his mission and donate whatever money you have to this good cause!

UPDATE: We have raised just over £41 so far and we are not even halfway through the month.  Hopefully we may raise close to £100!!  Thank you for your support.

FINAL UPDATE:  The final amount raised was just over £111 including the money raised by Mr Hornus.  A big thank you to everyone who donated and supported us throughout November.
